Arcsom:
3 Days on the
Adriatic Sea
Arcsom is a Belgian technology company. Their leadership team came to ArrowHead with a clear challenge: they were performing, but they wanted to understand each other better — what drives each person, where the friction comes from, and what was collectively missing from the team dynamic.
Fred Van de Walle designed a 3-day Management Drives programme aboard a 45-foot catamaran on the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia. Away from the office, on the water, with nowhere to hide — the perfect conditions for honest leadership work.
Individual Drives
Each participant received their Management Drives profile debrief — motivators, rejections, blind spots, and behaviour under stress. Named, not guessed. The foundation for everything that followed.
Team Drives
The individual profiles were mapped collectively. The team saw their combined profile — what drives the group, where tensions come from, and critically, what the team was collectively missing. The missing links are where teams lose performance.
Open Feedback
Structured open feedback between all team members — what each person observes in others that the other doesn't see in themselves. Done well, this is the most valuable session of any leadership programme.

I work in a Fintech environment and interact daily with many expert profiles. As a generalist, I sometimes found it difficult to connect with them. The Management Drives training helped me better understand my own drivers and those of others, and how to bridge differences. Fred did an excellent job explaining the model and my personal profile in a concise and clear way. As a result, I now better understand thinking patterns and can anticipate more effectively.
The individual profiles helped me better understand my own motivations and those of my colleagues. After a quick course on making fire on snow and navigation exercises with map and compass, we found the place to build our own survival shelter. Cooking your own meal under the northern lights and realising you will spend the night outside at −18°C were my highlights. This experience truly pushes you out of your comfort zone — one that will be remembered at the office for a long time.
